Many young people who need help are the ones you'll never hear from

The ones acting out get noticed. The ones quietly falling apart don't. By the time a crisis surfaces, the window for early intervention has already closed, and families are left scrambling for care.

We close that gap; our universal screener surfaces the silent strugglers, and all families get guidance and support with a curated network of vetted providers ready to step in.

Nearly half of youth who died by suicide had no prior clinical contact or known risk of suicide.

Frequently asked about BridgeWell

What is BridgeWell?

BridgeWell is a mental health screening and care platform. It combines universal screening with a private family-engagement tool and a vetted provider marketplace, allowing organizations to identify students who need support and connect their families to care.

Is BridgeWell free for schools?

Yes. BridgeWell is free for K-12 schools and districts. California districts can also access CYBHI reimbursement through BridgeWell, which can generate roughly $200,000 per year in new revenue for a mid-size district.

How does BridgeWell screen students for mental health concerns?

BridgeWell uses universal in-classroom screening via Care Check, an evidence-based digital screener developed in partnership with Seattle Children's Hospital. Students complete a brief 5-10 minute self-report assessment drawn from BridgeWell's library of validated clinical instruments. Results are triaged in real time, automatically surfacing students at elevated risk for suicide, depression, anxiety, and other concerns to counselors and clinicians.

How does BridgeWell protect student privacy?

BridgeWell is SOC 2 Type 2 certified and complies with HIPAA, FERPA, PIPEDA, and PHIPA. BridgeWell will enter a Business Associate Agreement (BAA) with HIPAA Covered Entities before any Protected Health Information is exchanged. The platform does not sell or share personal information, and data is encrypted in transit and at rest.

How is BridgeWell different from other school mental health platforms?

BridgeWell is a closed-loop system, not just a screening or survey tool. BridgeWell continues through to action, surfacing the need, engaging parents through a private Care Hub, and connecting families to vetted providers with no waitlists. The platform handles family communication and care navigation automatically, without adding work to counselor or administrator caseloads.

What happens after a student is identified as needing mental health support?

After Care Check identifies a student at elevated risk, BridgeWell triages the result and routes it to the appropriate staff in real time (typically school counselors, social workers, or district mental health coordinators). The student's parents are simultaneously engaged through the Care Hub, which provides age-appropriate guidance and direct access to a vetted network of providers. Families can book care without long wait times or insurance confusion.

Does BridgeWell add work for school counselors and staff?

No. BridgeWell is built to reduce administrative work, not add to it. Care Check automates the screening, scoring, and triage process. Care Hub handles parent outreach, care navigation, and follow-up coordination. Counselors receive a prioritized queue of students who actually need attention so they can focus on direct student support rather than paperwork.

Has BridgeWell been clinically validated?

Yes. BridgeWell's Care Check screener was developed in collaboration with Seattle Children's Hospital and uses evidence-based, validated clinical instruments (such as PHQ-9, GAD-7, and other published assessments). The platform has been used to screen more than 500,000 students with a 97% student completion rate and 80% parent engagement through the Care Hub.
